Spinning Profile: Out and Back
I have several profiles to get caught up on posting. I’ve been having touble with iTunes iMixes, which I blame for the delay. I can’t figure out how to build a mix from their store without purchasing the song for my library, which I don’t need to do, because I already have these songs! If anyone knows how to get around this little issue, please shoot me a comment or an email (powergirl [[att]] groupfitpower [daut] com). Thanks! And on with the show….
This is an out and back that models riding out to the beach, playing in the water for a bit, then riding home. I showed IMAX: Coral Reef on our projector screens while we were riding to add to the fun! I also erred on the side of variety when choosing music, because I have an amazingly disparate group of riders in my new Wednesday 6:30 time slot. A little something for everyone, especially the gents this time.

Spinning Profile: Interval Loops (IEZ)
I went back to teaching Spinning regularly at the start of January, and I am very excited to share with you the rides I’ve been doing with my class. The first profile I worked on was a modification of a Loop Ride from Pedal On. I modified it to make it very user-friendly. I wanted the very first class I taught to have a little something for everyone, be easy to coach, and not take too much out of me if I rode it along side them. It went over well, and I think I picked a decent mix for not knowing who I would have in the class. Everything is available in the links below. Take a look below:

Spinning Instructors: Would Chris Carmichael take your class?
If you are an Indoor Cycling instructor and aren’t familiar with Chris Carmichael, please leave this blog immediately and go to Bicycling.com to start a subscription to the magazine outdoor riders read. Chris Carmichael is Lance Armstrong’s coach and he is an incredible resource not only for road racers, but for indoor cyclists as well. His training article in Bicycling Magazine this month is incredibly eye-opening and reveals quite a bit about the weaknesses of many indoor cycling classes. There are two big takeaways from his article: 1) develop your spinning profiles and teach your classes with a training purpose and 2) know your students. Adopting these two simple teaching habits will take your class to the top among gym rats and outdoor riders alike!
Here is his article: Q: Will an indoor-cycling class at my local gym help me in the winter?
