About the Author

Krista has been the Director of Group Fitness for several clubs in the Charleston, SC area.  Her expertise has led to the expansion and improvement of her programs and her dedication has helped students and instructors alike reach their goals of self-improvement.

She has been “into fitness” her whole life, beginning as a dancer in Oklahoma then in New York City.  The latter is where she became a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer.  Her attitude toward fitness is “the more fun, the more better” and she strives to teach classes that are just that.  Her jokes might be terrible, but she’ll provide you with an athletic yet entertaining workout that leaves no muscle untouched.  She encourages all of her instructors to bring their personalities to their classes.

Her experience and education cover a huge variety of fitness areas, including Dance, Weight Lifting and Body Building, Functional Fitness, Pilates, Yoga, Sports Conditioning, and Post-Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention, and Spinning, just to name a few.  Krista’s credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree from Tulane University, certifications from NASM, Mad Dogg Athletics, AFAA, FiTour, and APEX.  She specializes in functional training and targeted heart rate training, and uses her skills to improve performance for novices and experienced athletes alike.

In addition to her experience in fitness, Krista is also a Web Developer and writer.  She recently contributed a chapter on fitness to the book 42 Rules for Working Moms.  She is also the Columbia Weight Loss Examiner on Examiner.com.
